Holiday Cheer

Free Art Lessons

The Holiday Cheer Classroom will be open November 1st - December 31st 2021

I want to spread cheer, joy, and a little bit of art throughout the land during the Holiday Season. If you're new or have been here since the beginning, this is my way of saying thank you!

Every week for the next four weeks, you will receive a free art lesson. The selected lessons are excerpts from four of my most popular art classes and will inspire you to pull out your art supplies and create!

If you are interested in taking the full course, you can find detailed information about the course lessons here.

Once you register, you will receive a little cheer in your inbox every Monday in November.

During November, I will be giving away four beautiful art gifts on my blog. Make sure you stop by each week to enter your name in the drawing.

Week One | Expressive Portraits On Paper

Lesson excerpt from Collected Stories

Gather bits and pieces of vintage paper, sketch paper, and tracing paper to draw small, expressive portraits.

Week 2 | Portrait Quick Sketch

Lesson excerpt from Conversations

Create a loose and smudgy portrait to use in your abstract & collage work.

Week 3 | Woman In A Dress

Lesson excerpt from Capturing Beauty

In this lesson, we take one of our fashion sketches as inspiration. We look to the work we did in our color studies and abstract painting to create a dress filled with beautiful colors, mark-making, and texture

Week 4 | Storyteller Cards

Lesson excerpt from The Storytellers

In this lesson, we will create a "collection of ideas." Small and simple, these little collages can be a constant source of inspiration. A place to keep every idea, random thought, quick sketch, or color swatch. By working quickly and intuitively, you don't have time to overthink this fun way to warm up the creative process.
