Escape to a weekend of inspiration and creativity with Andrea Garvey and Renee Mueller. You will feel refreshed and inspired by the breathtaking landscapes of Santa Cruz, California.
Andrea’s home is on a coastal bluff with a 360-degree view of the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Cruz Mountains. We will create art together indoors and outdoors in the flower gardens, gorgeous beach, and serene forest.
Embrace the wonder of nature and enjoy walking along the water's edge of the gorgeous Pacific Ocean. Enjoy a beautiful and memorable morning hike amid the towering redwoods in Nisene Forest, with time to sketch and draw inspiration from their majestic presence.
We will have two full days together to make art, have conversations, connect with other creatives, have good food, go on hikes, and enjoy beautiful sunsets. You will leave with an armload of artwork and feel refreshed and inspired.
This retreat will be a mix of inspiration, creativity, art lessons, nature, beauty, and, of course, lots of laughter and play, and all levels are welcome!

Thursday, September 26th
Meet and Greet (appetizers and cocktails)
Join us on Andrea’s deck to watch the sunset over the water.

Friday, September 27th
Art lessons in the studio
Art + Inspiration at the beach
9:30 We gather at Andrea’s home for coffee + light breakfast
10:00 Art Lesson
Noon Lunch at Andrea’s in the flower garden
1:00 Inspirational walk + sketching with Andrea at Rio Del Mar Beach
2:30 Back to Andrea’s for afternoon treats and more inspiration
3-5 Art Lesson

9:30 We arrive at the Nisene Marks Forest for an easy hike + sketching time

Art Lessons
Play with color and mark-making in fresh new ways to help create looser and more expressive artworks in the studio.
Learn how to “see” fresh color palettes, shapes, patterns, and textures on our excursions that can be incorporated into future artworks.
Learn tips on how to sketch and paint on location.
Learn how to be more intuitive in your work, using nature for inspiration.
Fill your art journal and travel sketchbooks with memorable pieces from our trip.
